Donald Trump: probably the first US president to pay with Bitcoin
During his stay in New York, the Republican presidential candidate visited the Bitcoin bar "Pubkey" before his campaign event in the evening. There he bought cheeseburgers with Bitcoin - in keeping with National Cheeseburger Day, which takes place annually in the USA on September 18.
The FOX Business television station broadcast the historic moment live, which occurred at block time 861,871 according to PubKey's ๐ account.

The 45th President of the United States of America then handed out the burgers, which he called "crypto" or "bitcoin burgers", to those present.
A photo also circulated showing Trump signing a cap with the words "Make Bitcoin Great Again" - in reference to his well-known campaign slogan "Make America Great Again".

Trump: "I want Bitcoin."
Whether another US president has already used Bitcoin to buy goods cannot be completely ruled out. However, it is quite possible that the 78-year-old is indeed the first former and possibly future head of state of the USA to have used BTC to make payments.
In May, Trump became the first leading candidate in the US election campaign to accept donations in Bitcoin and Co.
The Republican is positioning himself as a pro-Bitcoin president in the presidential election campaign and has even announced plans to establish a Bitcoin reserve for the US. According to the betting markets, however, his opponent, Democrat and current Vice President Kamala Harris, is currently ahead of Trump.
